  "Hi Shriram, TLM modeling can be take place at different abstraction levels. What you typically do not want to achieve with TLM is to mimic the protocol at the signal level. This means, you would not have a TLM port for the I2C SCL and SCA line and send the data bit by bit. Typically, you would comprise the SCA and SCL line into one TLM port. Then, you just send the payload as once. E.g. one blocking I2C transaction could send in one shot the I2C address of the slave, the internal register number you want to write to, and the data byte. If your use case (arbitration) requires to split up the transaction into the non-blocking transfers, then you can send e.g. a transfer for the start sequence, a transfer for the I2C address, a transfer for the data etc. independently. At the end, the level of abstraction is defined by what you want todo with the TLM model. Other than memory map based protocols, off chip protocols are not covered by the TLM 2.0 standard. Thus, there is quite some degree of freedom how you model the bus. Thus, you would need to model an IC2 bus that takes care about arbitration so that e.g. the lower address wins.
